Ang Simula: Jana Garcia EP Launch

Supported another great artist this weekend. I have the privilege of getting an invite at Ms Jana's EP Launch by sir Doie! :D

Jana Garcia is a singer/song-writer and has been actively involved in the industry, sharing her music with compositions about her life experiences. She has this alternative/pop-rock feel with her music that perfectly matches her powerful voice.

Me and a friend got at Bootleg Bistro when Soil & Green was just about to play. Got to meet Jose outside the bar too, whose also one of the line up artists that night.

Among the other bands who we watched performed were Soapdish, Clubhouse, Jose At Musika, Gherns Calina, Quartermoon and Yan Abelardo. Too bad we missed two other bands. :(

The bands played 2-3 songs on their sets. Though I really felt Soapdish sang "more" songs than the other bands. lol. Check out some of the bands' set at this playlist:

Jana and the band performed 'Buwaya' on their intro, 'Malapit Na', 'Di Biro', 'Heto Na' and a cover of 'Champagne Supernova'. The Ang Simula album has 6 tracks and 1 bonus track. My instant favorites were the first songs I've heard her play back at Luma's album launch; 'Malapit Na' and 'Heto Na'.

After the main act, few more bands played. The stage was graced with very talented artists tonight! Here's Ms Gherns Calina keeping the bossa feel on stage.

We enjoyed the performance of Yan Abelardo too and the Open Jam was very entertaining.
