APCC 2015 | Asia Pop Comic Con Manila

The highly anticipated event of the year, the launch of the biggest comic book fan convention in Manila. It’s a four day event (the first day is just for the media) and I myself was surprised how big the event was!

We first learned about this event with a flier that was handed to us during ToyCon 2015. We didn’t knew how big the event was but the event name has the phrase “Comic Con” which gave us the idea that it’s going to be huge! :P

A few months after, we saw advertisements of the event in social media and even booths at prior conventions. They also put out a website (https://asiapopcomicon.com/manila/) where you can know more of the event and buy tickets. Here are photos of me during Otaku Expo 2015 supporting the APCC event:

I was trying to invite people to do a cosplay group at the last day of the event but few friends just said yes. We were thinking of a western anime or game to cosplay but we all agreed to do a Samurai Shodown cosgroup and I picked Iroha.

If not only for work I would have attended the event for three days, so as much as I would want to, I was just able to attend for the last two days.

APCC 2015 | Day 3 (Saturday)

The event was held at the World Trade Center, Pasay. I got at the venue with a crowd build up outside and a shockingly loooooong line. I immediately look for the end of the line and surprisingly the line was continuously moving so the hour long line just passed by without any complaining attendees.

At the ticket line, I already bought tickets for today and the next day to avoid that long line again. Along with the ticket, we were given a booklet with the floor map, event schedules and small profiles of the guests. Personally, the organizers at this event were very professional and really, the experience is different from the other conventions we have been attending to.

I had three friends to go with at this event. And at the entrance, we were graced with the huge booth of FOX that has a small ball game and cute merch!.

After participating at their social media contest, we immediately went to Vampy’s booth. OMG! I was so excited!!! This is going to be my second time meeting her in person!!! I’ve been a big fan of hers since I saw her at deviantArt way back 2011 with this photo: http://vampbeauty.deviantart.com/art/Vampy-stare-143340006

It was so lovely how the place was setup the way the floors are with Comic Con conventions abroad. The place never felt so full even though there were lots of people roaming around. And lining up at Linda’s (Vampy) booth was so worth it! I had a close photo with her and was even able to get a signed print! >happykid< ^^v

Since we were all in casual clothing and it’s not cosplay day for us, we have our booklets signed with the rest of the guest artists and cosplayers that were around. Beside Linda’s booth was Amanda Spayd’s and Chris Ryniak’s booth. They have a huge space and it was graced with dust bunnies and trinkets of cute little creatures!

They were so friendly and very accommodating to everyone who visit their booth. They even creatively sign the booklets with colored pens and drew little creatures with it too. :D

I stopped by the next booth were I saw a familiar piece, a Baby Metroid that Vampy used with her Samus cosplay only smaller and was a necklace. Apparently, the person at the booth is JRyu! Vampy’s good friend who she collaborated with her Baby Metroid. So Cool! JRyu is one of the Vinyl Toy Guests along with Amanda and Chris.< p>

After that, we roamed around the venue and enjoyed the rest of the day. They have dedicated spaces for all their guests, from Comic Artists to Internet Celebrities, the event was really packed! The exhibits were so cool too! Not the usual same ones we see at other conventions. There was even a life size Ironman Hulkbuster Armor on display!

We stayed up until 8PM, enough time to go home and prepare for the next day, it’s cosplay day!

APCC 2015 | Day 4 (Sunday)

The last day of a convention weekend is always our cosplay day. I arrived late among the group since it was a Church Sunday for me.

Anyways, it was easier coming in since I have a pre-bought ticket from yesterday. Plus! Cosplayers are allowed to go in right away. I saw the group were all dressed up so I dropped my props and went ahead to get dressed.

The thing I love with the World Trade Center is that they have HUGE comfort rooms, it’s really my favorite spot for cosplay conventions.

Ta-daaaa! We are now transformed!

Of course first things first, I insisted to get in line to Vampy’s booth and have a photo with her AGAIN! But when we got there, she was called on stage because CAGE was about to start and she was one of the judges.

So we roamed around first and I “toured” the others at the venue and took shots of the place. It was more crowded today. Surprisingly crowded because there’s also an on-going convention at the SMX Convention Center nearby at the same day.

We waited by the stage until the winners were called. (Official CAGE photos here: http://www.cosplayauthority.com/manila). By the time the grand winner was announced, we went back to Vampy’s booth and there’s already a line.

It was so adorable that Vampy was shocked that there were people waiting for her when she came back. She got her merch and sat back at her booth again. HOORAY!! VAMPY LOVE!!!

It was so funny, when we all wanted a group photo with her, we had nobody to take it. Monika Lee was assisting her at the time with her merch and GAWD she strongly insisted and took our group photo! It was a forever treasure and I will be forever thankful for that moment.

As our hype went on after our Vampy moment, we all decided to publicly travel in costume to the other convention that was happening nearby.

We just transported to another event. And TADAAA! Welcome to Best of Anime! Here are photos with friends:
