La Chēvrerie | Resort & Spa
Sunday, June 28, 2015It’s a staycation weekend for us this time. Big sis got a promo at this resort at Batangas and she immediately booked for us four.
The name of the resort is La Chēvrerie. It’s 5-star resort located at Anilao, Batangas. A perfect secret vacation spot if you want to get away from everything. You may learn more about the resort and book for reservations at their official website here: http://www.lachevrerie-resorts.com/.
It was a 2hour drive from Cavite to Batangas and we have Google maps on to find this hidden resort. Big sis did her research and told us that celebrities are known to stay at La Chēvrerie because of its remote location.
After few wrong turns, we arrived at La Chēvrerie by 02:00 PM. It was very well hidden! We didn’t even notice their big brown gate. lol
As the gate opened, we were greeted by goats that have a small cozy shed by the wall. If you would literally search what chēvrerie means, it will give you the word chèvre that means goat. We were told by the care takers that the lot was a goat farm before it became a resort. That’s a good trivia right there.
The first thing you’ll see by the parking area is this big house, which we thought was the receiving area. We were pointed downstairs to check in our names. You can hear and feel the vacation air onve you go downstairs. I got so excited when I saw a glimpse of sea water as we went down.
The reception area is very cozy and you can immediately view the swimming pool from there. As we were checking in, we were given complimentary drinks that are very refreshing! Here are few photos from the reception area.
I was still savoring the view when they handed the keys, by the time I went back up at the car, they were already loading up our bags inside the huge house. Apparently the big house that we saw up front is where we were staying. We were supposed to get two rooms but the cost of the two rooms (discount included) is the same price of the big house (villa) so that’s what big sis took. How cool is that?!
The villa has two floors, big enough to accommodate 20 people I guess. It was HUGE for the four of us. I was like, “we could have a party here!!!” Here are photos of the first floor (top):
The second floor (bottom) is waaaay cooler! There were exactly three beds, so we three chose to stay here instead. We were all jumping off from one bed to another and checked out the rest of the villa. Anyway, here’s what it look like at the second floor (bottom):
The place has free WiFi and cable. There are complimentary drinks and snacks too. The fridge on both floors are filled with drinks; bottled water, canned fruit drinks and canned beers. There’s also cups, spoons, an electronic kettle and sachets of coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and lots more! You basically have everything you need there.
On each of the floors, there’s also a walk-in closet and the bathroom has robes, towels and toiletries available to consume by how many people are checked in. And of course the most important (for me), they have a hair dryer at the vanity cabinet. Happy! :D
Once we have settled and got our things at our big closets, we got out the house and went down stairs to get a clear view of the sea side. Father stayed inside though, he chose to use the air conditioning, cable and extra comfy bed as much as he could. :P
Here’s a clear view of the pool. Look how they have bean bags around the pool. There are sun-bathing beds by the sea too and the area has Coconut Trees to shade everything.
The day we checked in was like a post storm day, so the waves are really huge and the air was strong but still a good day to chill out and just be lazy by the pool. :P The rest of the rooms are beautifully placed beside the pool area. Far enough from the sea side and close enough to hear the waves. The view is really pretty.
We had our late lunch at their own restaurant at the resort, L’Atelier. I soooo love their menu! They have the healthy menu up from their drinks to their desserts. All the ingredients they use are fresh and very tasty.
It was late afternoon when we went back up the villa. Father had a massage before we had dinner as we enjoyed the villas for ourselves. The villa has a phone to dial the staffs from and we requested to have our dinner delivered upstairs instead. We took few drinks from the fridge when the food came, it was one of my memorable dinner indeed.
After dinner we watched few shows, took our hot baths. Before going to sleep though, I went outside to check the sea side, it was very calm now. And there are cricket sounds on the background too. I nearly dozed off by the sunbathing beds until a family went out and sat there too. And that ended our day 1 at La Chēvrerie.
I woke up early the next morning with the lovely sound of the waves outside. It rained a bit, enough to make the mood at the resort extra cozy. A few stretches and we all decided to go outside.
We roamed around the place and played at the pool until our complimentary breakfast was served. And again, the food is amazing!

We checked out around 10:00 AM and checked out the port area since it’s near the road we are driving back home.
I thought we were going straight home but yeah, as always I was still inside the villa when they planned where we were going next. :P And here we are at Poblacion, the Heritage Town at Taal.
We went to their plaza where the Basilika ng Taal stood. It was dubbed as Asia’s Biggest Catholic Church. And yes, it was HUGE! Here are few shots from the inside.
The rest of the vicinity is beautiful too. It’s the common setup way back the Spaniard era where the Church is the center of the town, the plaza is nearby, a huge College University at the other side, the police station and the municipal hall at the other.
We drove through the village and searched for this particular place where big sis wanted to eat at. The place is so cute inside out! The name of the place is Café G. I thought it was a tiny place to chill at until I roamed around the place and discovered that it was huge! It’s a tinnie tiny huge-ish place. Here are photos inside Café G.

After we ate, we continue driving back home and pass by Fortune Island. I’ve always wanted to go in but we were told that it’s already a private property. :P
We continued our drive to Tagaytay and decided to visit the Puzzle Mansion, our last stop for this trip. It houses all types of puzzles and currently holds a World Guinness Record for the largest puzzle collection.
