Color Manila Nite Run 2014
Sunday, August 31, 2014This is my 2nd time to run with Color Run Manila and my 2nd night run (with Nike).
My last time was with colored powders and this year, the theme for this run is with glow paints.
Unlike any other registration, Color Run Manila always have this claiming day of your race kits. It was like a mini party and all. And they were also selling the same glow paints that will be used during the race.
The race kit includes the shirt, bib number, glow stick shades and some GCs.
The next day was the day of the race, we only took 5k since we were in it just for the fun of it.
We weren't able to take any photos during the race that much but we were able to get pass through two glow paint stops.
So here's my review of my experience during the race:
- People are spraying glow paints to the runners at paint stops. That was fun, but if only some of the runners weren't staying that long at the paint stops then everybody would've got sprayed with paints.
- Most parts of the track were dark. You can't really see a thing unless you have headlights with you.
- Lack of ushers.
My review after the run:
- The best thing I get to love most is that everybody got their own medals even though you only ran 5k.
- It rained before the event so I'm not blaming the organizers for it. But the rain made the place all muddy and wet and it was hard to walk. The place is not very well lit.
- The baggage counter people were not properly organized. Me and most of my friends got our bags all muddy. Not good. Really not good.
- The ushers and organizers seemed to make the runners finish the race immediately. They were packing up things too early.
My overall rating with the experience would be 3/5 ~ The after party made more fun and livelier than the actual race itself. I would still like to run with Color Run, but I would much prefer the morning run with the powder colors and the sun.
